In the final years of the Arydas crisis, the Coalition prepared for what was anticipated to be a very costly ground invasion of the planet Akvan under control of Tri-Tachyon forces. In order to avoid unnecessary bloodshed, on August 12, the Coalition Admiralty issued an ultimatum calling for the unconditional surrender of the local planetary defense forces and abandonment of Akvan by the enemy forces, under the threat of unceasing orbital bombardment.

Tri-Tachyon forces did not respond the intimidation attempt, feeling confident that their ground-based orbital defense cannons would be capable of stopping any incoming missiles. The defenders, however, ignored the development of the Claymore-class Battlecruiser, a ship capable of firing the massive Judgement-class torpedo.

Eight days later, on August 20, 185. The Coalition's first mobile shipyard, the CSV Andes Forgeship, escorted by the second strike fleet, led by vice admiral Callisto Banks, arrived at the outskirts of Akvan's gravity well, finding themselves ambushed between Ahura Station and unexpected Tri-tachyon reinforcements.

Under orders of the Admiralty, Banks was commanded to defend the factory ship until the arrival of the newly formed third strike fleet, which was already in transit from Arcon.

Survival of the CSV Andes is key to maintain a constant supply of freshly produced Judgement-class torpedoes for the Claymore Battlecruisers of the third strike fleet, and the subsequent occupation of the system. Do not let it fall.
